About Certification

International Certification Program for Accountants CAP/СІРА

The CAP/CIPA program is the only comprehensive Russian-language international certification program for professional accountants. The name of the program is the abbreviation of the English title of the CIPA certificate (Certified International Professional Accountant). Bearers of CAP and CIPA certificates are granted the right to append the certificate's abridged title to their signatures which conforms to international practices. The СІРА program consists of three components: training, administration of examinations and certification.

Qualification Levels of the CAP/CIPA Program

Candidates who have passed the necessary examinations and meet the additional qualification requirements are granted the designations of CAP and CIPA and awarded the relevant certificates:
  • САР (Certified Accounting Practitioner)
    A САР can maintain the firm's accounting system and produce all the basic reports, including tax returns.

  • СІРА (Certified International Professional Accountant)
    A СІРА can apply professional judgment to financial management issues and participate in the executive decision making process.

Preparation for exams, study of the disciplines is a key to success. Depending on how confident you are in your knowledge, you can either choose self-education (and make use of Training materials), or participate in CIPA learning programs carried our by independent training providers (Training Providers).

The CAP/CIPA Program Examinations

The CAP/CIPA program examinations are uniform for all member countries, except for the tax and law exam which is prepared separately for each country and based on the national tax legislation. The CIPA examinations are rigorous and reliable. They are administered by the independent CIPA Examination network (CIPA-EN). The main requirement for obtaining CAP and CIPA certificates is the passing of the CIPA examinations.

Where can you get a certificate?

In Ukraine, four professional organizations – ECCAA member bodies are entitled to issue CAP/CIPA certificates to their members, based on CIPAEN exams passed. Given below is a list of these organizations:
